FRONT USB header: asus a8n sli premium: which do i use??

i have 3 usb connectors on my mobo, then i have the "game panel" and the "front panel" that houses my buttons on the case.

i understand (i believe) how to wire them, i just don't know which mobo connector they go on...nothing in the manual.....i can't tell which is for the front!!!

thanks in advance

Page 2-25 of your owner's manual shows the USB header pinouts. Typical Asus pinout. If you need help with the little pluglets from your case's USB ports, post what they say on them and I can try to translate for you 🙂

thanks kind sir. i have my trusty user guide in front of me, it appears that they might go onto one of 3 diff "USB CONNECTORS" (chaper 2-25).....usb 78, usb 56, or usb 910....my usb "single wires" have d- and d+, there are grounds, and there is one red power and one orange power......i guess i just use any of the three?

are my single wires labeled "2" for the top row (even numbered) and those labeled "1" for the bottom row?

Exaxtly correct, any of the three USB headers would be fine 🙂

If your board is in the normal position in the case (CPU at top, PCI slots at bottom) then from left to right the wires would be

5V, Data-, Data+, Ground, Ground

and

5V, Data-, Data+, Ground

As long as you get all of the 1's on one row and all the 2's on the other row, you're fine. If there are five plugs with 1's but only four plugs with 2's, then you can put all of the 1's on the top row that has five pins so you don't have a leftover ground wire.

Enjoy your new system! 😎
