Just saw the demo for teh MAC mini and how Front row works with it.

http://www.apple.com/imac/frontrow.html

Not a big a apple fan and since I already have a good RIG was curious if anyone knwos about similar software + remote for Windows where I could use the remote to control DVD's Video etc.

DVD's probably most important.

There are certainly others, but i know the premium Creative bundles that come with a remote have some nice software with front row type features. I dont use it personally because I would rather use a mouse/keyboard, but there is a navigational menu etc.. for movies, music and all that jazz.

Its just that when u are chillin out on the sofa and working on ur laptop it would be nice to have a remote to control songs or movies instead of running back and forth.

Yeah i totally understand that, would be a great feature for a laptop. Its just on my desktop i dont have that much of a use for it, however I do enjoy controlling iTunes with a remote.... however i do not like the Creative "front row" application as much as iTunes.

Yeah the Creative one just doesnt have the ease of use and simplicity Front Row has to offer.

Think the other option I found through google was Microsoft Media CEnte Edition. But thats definitely the last thing I want to convert my system into. Looks like I might get a Mac Mini just for the Front Row. Its really appealing and should work with my 2405 just well.

There are a bunch of different options.

Creative, Keyspan, Steamzap, etc make remotes that will work with PC, then you can either use their software or third-party software such as Girder.
