Front panel LED with SATA HDD

This seems to be a design issue with the mobo manufacturers, because every build I do with SATA only, the hdd LED never comes on when the hard drive is working. Is there anyway to make the front panel hdd LED work with SATA only hard drives?

hmm I haven't heard of that problem, but when I get my SATA drives I'll reply again ^_^

I dont have any problems on my DFIs and the use of SATA drives only.. Double check the pinout on your led cable to mobo header.

Hmm you mean they work for you? I guess I'll have to double check it. I'm almost positive they are in the right place though. Maybe the LED don't work. Wierd.

Mine works fine with a Seagate 7200.7 80GB SATA and EPoX 9NDA3+...

Ok I just got them to work. It seems I had the pin outs reversed. Thanks for the input.
