Front panel Firewire port connector

I connected the front panel firewire port from my case to the connectors on my MSI K8NGM2-FID board, but for some reason it doesn't work. Only the rear firewire port works. Is there some other setting/driver I need to install?
 
If you hook up the included firewire bracket (if you have it) to the firewire header (J1394_1) on the mainboard does it work? Are you sure the pins for the case front panel firewire port are plugged in correctly.
