Hey everyone!

Just finished a new build using a P6N Platinum Motherboard and a NZXT Lexa case. Love them both to death, but I can't get the front audio ports to work. The motherboard has the following labels (pretty much the intel high-def specification):

Pin1: Mic_L
Pin2: GND
Pin3: Mic_R
Pin4: Presence#
Pin5: Lineout_R
Pin6: Mic_JD
Pin7: Front_JD
Pin8: N/A
Pin9: Lineout_L
Pin10: Lineout_JD

OK so i figured out that the JD is jack detection for disabling the rear outputs. However this is what the front port cables are labeled as for the case:

Mic-In
Mic-Power
Ground
L-Out
R-Out
L-Ret
R-Ret

My configuration so far is
Pin1: Mic-In
Pin2: Ground
Pin3: Mic-Power
Pin4:
Pin5: R-Out
Pin6: R-Ret
Pin7:
Pin8:
Pin9: L-Out
Pin10: L-Ret

but this doesn't work. Anyone know what is going wrong? I have no clue where to put what. Thanks.

One thing to check as well is ive notices on some boards that in the bios there is an option for what type of front panel mode that it will work in, either ac'97 or hd audio. you could try it on ac'97 and see if that works.

Hey thanks for the idea, unfortunately my BIOS only has the option to turn off the HD audio and not switch it between. Perhpas switching it off turns it into a '97. Guess I'll give it a try.

Update: Tried disabling the HD front I/O through the BIOS and it didn't work as I thought. Anyone got any suggestions or are in a similar situation?

i admit that i have no idea what's the problem. in my case (Cooler Master Centurion 5) the audio cable has two plugs. on is for Azalia HD Intel audio and the other is for plain old AC'97.

I have the same motherboard as you, and I'm having the same problem. My case is different (it's an Eagletec), but it has the same seven connectors. I'd love to get this working right!
