front panel audio connectors

If I hook up my Antec case front panel audio connectors to the boards front panel audio connector, is it going to cancel out the standard rear connectors?

yes you normally have to literally plug the cables into the rear, and run them to the front panel in the case.

No, your mobo should have headers for front MIC and Headphones. Check your motherboard manual. The cable is run internally from the motherboard to the front of the case. Whether ports are active or not depends on the Audio Driver.

depends on the mobo. Both of my nForce2 mobo have headers specifically for front connectors, and they do change the audio configuration of the rear ports. Jumpers are required on some of the connectons if you don't have the front ports plugged in.
