Front-page article: Gigabyte gaming mini-PC, with i7-6700K and GTX1080!

Nifty. I'd be tempted to get it but I doubt it can be anywhere near as quiet as my Antec P280 monster case with low-speed 120mm fans.

My red Brix unit with the mobile Richland AMD FM2-ish quad-core, was pretty noisy, but my J1900 Atom Celeron Brix unit is pretty silent. (Yes, it does have a fan.)

The case size should allow for the same cooling power the expansion card itself has, the only reason sound might be louder is because it will directly exhaust itself while a desktop case can help muffle the noise with its expansive interior. Infact just looking at the specs it looks like all components are replaceable desktop components. The video card is a normal video card, the cpu is a desktop cpu, the PSU is a standard even. I like it.. but I have relegated my gaming to a laptop now for even better space savings.

Serious though if the price is right.. this could be the go-to solution when a regular body wants a gaming pc, you can just point them to this. They will look at the size and say "sweet..deal done". Actually hopefully they will have a 1060 model or a video card-less model since the much cheaper 1060 will be just fine for any person getting into pc gaming.

You seem to be forgetting about the case fans.

Xav, case fans can run pretty silent, they don't need to ramp up for immediate demand like a heatsink fan.

The zotac en1080 is the better bet; it is smaller and quieter (reviews indicate near silent). Also you can buy it 'now' though it is extermely pricey.
