I have an Antec Sonata case (http://www.antec-inc.com/pdf/manuals/Sonata_en.pdf). I have the Asus K8V SE Deluxe. I want to enable the Firewire port at the front of the case. There is a cable from the front of the Sonata with the following labelled wires:
VP
VG
TPA+
TPA-
TPB+
TPB-
The Asus board has a 10-pin connector for the bundled Firewire module. I'm assuming I can wire the cable from the case to this.
Looking from left to right (2 rows of 5) the pinouts are labelled as follows:
Top row: TPA0- GND TPB0- +12V GND
Bottom: TPA0+ GND TPB0+ +12V [blank]
First of all, can I enable the front port in this way? If yes, then I assume I plug the TPA and TPB +/- connectors into the similarly-named connections on the motherboard. After that I'm stumped. Has anybody tried this before? Or is it obvious to someone with more knowledge than me? (that's not difficult)
Thanks
Martin
