Front Fans hooked to fan leads from powersupply or no?

I have an antec truepower 430. I currently have the front fans hooked to the fan leads coming off the powersupply. I realize this reduces their rpms. I am wondering if that is sufficient or if they should be hooked to normal power leads.

Lemme ask this.. do I need 5 fans? I have the two intake, the two outtake.. then one side fan that blow roughly on the gpu. Its pretty noisey.

As long as you're satisifed with your system temps you should leave those fans plugged into the "fan only" connector, especially if you already think it's "pretty noisy".

When I plugged my CPU fan into the fan only connector on mine it drastically cut the noise. I'd put all of your fans on the fan only connectors or a controller.

do not plug cpu fans into fan only connector. the psu only measures psu temp. basingg case fan speed off this isn't entirely bad, but cpu? thats not so good.

It's fine, running about 50C at full load (overvolted, overclocked XP 2500+).

If you're happy with your temps, then leave them connected to the "Fan Only" connectors. I have the same PS, but a big mutha case (Antec 1040).

Using the Fan Only connectors drastically cuts the noise, but the airflow too. My case temps shot up, ergo CPU temps did too. I would not, under any circumstances, plug my CPU HSF into those connectors!! Leave it plugged into the mobo where it belongs.
