Front Case audio to PCI soundcard?

Greetings,

Essentially a simple question in the topic summery. Can I use my front panel audio on my case with a PCI soundcard? I have an Audigy 2ZS and it appears it does not have any way to be able to connect up the front panel connections, which is rather disappointing, as I'd like to see them not go to waste with my new case.

Thanks.

It's not a simple job, but possible, i had a link to someone that posted info on "how to wire front ports, but must have deleted....it was more than what i wanted to deal with.
I'll try to google and see if i can find.

Thanks.

If it involves more than just plugging something in, it's probably not really worth the trouble. It would be nice if Creative recognized such a simple need and integrated such a feature into their soundcards. Maybe their X-Fi line does, but I looked all over my manual for my Audigy and found nothing, unfortunately.

In a sense they do, they would prefer that you purchase the front panel breakout box that comes with the Platinum series.

But I agree with you, that would be nice.

An option for ya though, look in the For Sale/Trade forum or E-bay you may be lucky to find a break-out box/front panel for your Audigy2ZS...I was able to land a X-FI Platinum card on Ebay for 80.00.

By the way I was unable to find any info on "how-to"...I found some forums that were talking about it, but the one I had, this dude took pic's and showed step by step.

Cheers

Thanks.

I already have the Platinum though with the front I/O 😛 ($80 on Newegg some time ago with a rebate)

It just would be nice to utilize those two front ports and if I recall, I don't think the front panel thing has an MIC in...it might, but I don't remember right now.
