new to this so i am really lost. i have a sonata case with front audio and firewire ports. i also have an intel d875pbz board and a audigy 2 zs card. what is the best way to connect the front audio and firewire ports, if at all? although i don't think i would use them right away, i'm just wondering how i could connect them. i did not find any info at creative on this.

i don't belive there are connectors on the mobo to connect this.

thanks!

ok, i figured out i need a mobo with a 1394 controller like an asus board.

how about connecting the two sound ports on the front of the sonata?

thanks. i read it but think i may not have audio connectors on this intel board D875PBZ nor does it look like i have a 1394 controller on it either...someone suggested i not go with intel but with abit or asus...maybe i should have listened!

i printed and scanned intels technical specifications doc on this board and did not see these specific questions discussed.

thanks again!

The 875PBZ has no onboard audio or Firewire so there are no connectors for them on the board. It's a great board but it's not a full featured board, Intel put the money into performance on this board. Didn't you look at the specs of the board before you bought it?

thanks for answering.

i read a lot of reviews on this board, i would think this was mentioned but i don't recall. this was my first build so i'm just glad it works.

i'm going to search to see if the sound card has something to plug the front audio into.

i've looked at some highend asus boards...nice!
