Got email from Compgeeks. Someone will benifit of its convenient.

The Easy Transfer Board

The Easy Transfer Board enables you to easily access the PC rear panel connectors. There is no longer a need to move your PC when you want to access any of the rear connectors! All you have to do is install the Easy Transfer Board into one of your 3.5'' fornt drive bays of your PC. Simply connect the cables from the ET Board to the rear ports on your PC and enjoy the convenient front access!

I have something similar. Mine is called WDM Crossbar and it has firewire, composite in/out,s-video in/out, audio in, mic and two USBs. It works really well and is attached to my GeForce 3 🙂

I got one of these last summer. The version that I bought had a serial connector where the SPDIF connectors are and no on/off switches (are those for fans?). Looks great and is very convenient for plugging in camcorder (firewire) and camera (USB). Also nice wat to plug in headphones when desired.

Hopefully they fixed the quality control issues with the cables. The board simply consists of cables that pass the signals from the back ports to the new front ones. The first one that I got didn't work so CompGeeks shipped a new one (I was to return the old one in the packaging of the new one at their expense). The new one didn't work either! At this point I pulled out my trusty ohmmeter and found that the wiring of the cables was all crossed. I disassembled the connectors and reassembled by matching pin-to-pin and everything works fine now.

Wait... Heres a better looking (I think) one that comes with LCD screen and is a little cheaper..."$23.00" Check it out here to buy See a better picture of it here Comes with Temp monitoring to...

I have a question. I have a speaker connected to line out of sound card. So if I install this front bay, do I have to connect my speaker through line out in the front, or I get two lineouts, one in back and one in front?

I'd prefer the one kAlla ordered but 3.5" size. And of course that $13 price. The CompGeek's one looks rather gaudy and of course the quality control issues mentioned don't make me feel too safe.

Frankly, I'd just like a 3.5" size one with USB Ports. 🙂

The Fronx looks interesting, especially its customizable features. But $13 is hard to beat. 🙂

Got one from directron.com. You get what you pay for.. it's cheaply made, but works as
advertised. Although, one of the wire on mine was broken. RMA it.

I ordered the 13 dollar one (now 12 dollars) but it doesn't have a fireware port like the more expensive one.

I ordered me up one. Its good for me as I have an orange micro pci card and the firewire / usb ports are on the back of the card and on the inside of the card !! so less cables comming out of my computer.

Also picked up a Super 12 peice toolkit for 7.95$ Link

Bought a case with 2 Front USBs and speaker and mic front holes, never got it to work. I think it is the case, because Back USBs work. Bought Case from Directron, if that helps anyone.

btw
does any of these have the internal type firewire connection?

my mobo has these headers for firewire and I don't know what to do with them
