From the Viper thread...

Seems remarkably unfair that in all these sorts of accidents you read about, the driver is always in hospital and the passenger/s is/are dead :|

Thanks. I wasn't around when it was originally posted, am I am too lazy to find it. I did a quick look in the main off topic area, and didn't see anything. I must have skipped over it.

Vipers are not a good car for unexperienced drivers to be in. They are very unforgiving if you make a mistake. I've seen plenty of videos of Vipers being pushed to that 101% mark, and some disaster happens. A 17 year old kid shouldn't be in a Viper to begin with.

It seems from most such accidents that the driver goes off the road on the passenger side of the car, and thus it seem likely that the passenger is in a more dangeruous situation.

In this case it appears that the passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and then its partly his fault he is dead, cause there is no reason to not wear a seatbelt.

Yeah, beeping sucks. <-- my awesome contribution to this thread because I used up my good post in the read viper thread

If you die in an accident because you were not wearing your seatbelt, I'll drink a  to thank the world that we've got one less dumb ass taking air.
hands on steering wheel help more than the airbag does.
What does hands on the wheel have to do with it...?

not to say if the seat belt would/wouldn't have saved him... but he's a moron for not wearing it

Not wearing a sealtbelt all the time is one issue - but what kind of retard wouldn't put on a seatbelt when he is a passenger in a viper being driven by a 17 year old?

You can turn the wheel. AKA: Steer.

If you were driving and about to crash into a utility pole, would you aim for your side of the car or the passenger side? Plus, all the dangerous stuff to crash into is on the passengers side (in the US).

And in other countries, it's still on that side, it's just the side has switched (both for the danger and the passenger)
