From Texas to Cali

Hello everyone, next week I'll be moving to Cali particularly in Marina Del Rey right outside of LA from Houston. I'm moving there to for a co-op postion with Boeing which will last until Dec 12th. So I'm asking for any advice or pointers (i.e. high speed internet, enterainment, what to say away from, what to look for, what to do or not to do) from anyone for my transition from Texas. Anything will help because I've never been to Cali. Thanks in advance.
