So if anyone thinks the car is missing anything else, let me know.

Aesthetically Ive done a few things that cleaned up the look and made it look a lot less ricey. I got rid of the chrome 'euro' style tail lights and removed the towel rack spoiler. The only thing remaining that I will be doing (appearance wise) is a front spoiler.

The motor is pretty much maxxed out right now. To get more power out of it I have to build the internals and work on the heads. I am looking into getting that done next year.

At this point the engine management is struggling with the setup and it looks like I will need to upgrade to a full on standalone ECU - the worst part about that is it will cost me near $3000 for a good standalone engine management system and wont add any power.

Badass grill. I don't like the spoiler, but overall it looks pretty cool. The picture curved away, so does your STI have dual exhaust?

I hear that Cosworth does nice performance parts for the STi. They're not cheap, but it's hard to argue with a company that's been in the tuning business for over sixty years and is responsible for the Cosworth DFV V8 which won F1 races for over 25 years. Plus, unlike "Snap-On" or "NISMO" stickers, a Cosworth badge will get you major respect from proper petrolheads.

EDIT:

Here's a really nicely tuned STI being driven by a racing driver.

Im not a fan of the roof spoiler either, buts its a serious investment to get it off. The huge spoiler on the back was ok, I bought a carbon fibre trunk lid and had it painted to match, but the roof spoiler cuts into the roof and would involve patch panels being welded onto the car and then an entire repaint.

Given the options... I think Ill live with it.

Cosworth makes some nice parts, but they are priced in accordance with their other parts unfortunately, and do not stand up better than (or as well as) the more well known Subaru specific parts.

Just FYI, my car makes way more power than the one in the video. That being said, they do a very good job of maintaining the stock engine bay look. I definitely wont be putting any badges on my car, Ive made a point of trying to keep it as subtle and stock looking as possible

No, that car should not really be messed with too much in the suspension department IMO. It is pretty damned good as it is.

Glad you agree. And that is why it will remain that way.

Its there to ensure laminar flow over the rear of the car.

One that works on gasoline engines will likely cost a pretty penny.

i think i'm wrong here

I thought that turbos were nonspecific? Hot air is hot air.

That said, I do know that Porsche uses these on the 911 Turbo. So, yeah, expensive.

The mechanism which controls the vanes must be able to withstand the temperature of the exhaust. Diesel exhaust is cooler than gasoline exhaust, which is why trucks can have them, but only a miniscule number of gas-powered cars have VNTs today.

I was also thinking of the 997 Turbo, but then I remembered that the Shelby CSX-VNT had one as well.

Well, Shelby modified them. If you bought a Dodge Shadow you wouldn't get anything special.

I wonder if you could fit two of the Shadow turbos to an STi?

They are not - I am currently looking into getting a KSTech scoop delete though.

Looks good. What turbo are you running?

Im running a GT35R rotated mount turbo that is externally wastegated.

The biggest problem I am experiencing right now is controlling the 85 lb/min injectors. They give me an interesting idle and make the car eat gas like its going out of style :p If Im really on it I can go through a tank like you wouldnt believe.

Plus the MAF style metering is taxed and really needs to be taken out.
