From Selling Crack To Selling Macs?

dear lord

now theyve matched 2 things i dislike (mac's and Rap)

they are trying to get me to hate them i know it

If marketed correctly it'll be awesome, otherwise it will horribly fail. Appple has some of the best marketing people in the world, so I'm going to err on the side of it being a good idea, at least for now. The only Apple products that tend to bomb are ones that Jobs himself pushes through the internal Apple development channel, like the anniversary Mac and the Mac Cube.

Edit: Also take careful note that half of the Mac rumors you'll read on the web are completely fabricated. Every 3 weeks there's a new rumor about a ridiculously awesome new Ipod coming soon, when Apple has historically released Ipods in the fall. People never fail to hop onboard and believe what they're told though, which is why if you go to a Mac Rumor site you'll find a truckload of folks that are consistently dissapointed in what Apple actually does release.

Apple's going to alienate all of it's elitist customer base. Oh wait... their elitist customer base will just listen and do whatever Apple tells them to do out of blind devotion, so I guess it'll work.

This can't be the first thread about this. I could swear its been sevral days since I first read about this.

To be honest, this might work quite well. Just get some rappers to start using Macs in their music videos and they'll start buying them like crazy. I mean, they're wanting to pull in a demographic that loves to spend money, like rims that cost more than their car, and all kinds of money on popular clothing. If the people they idolize act like its a hot, must-have item (*cough* iPod *cough*), then they will want to buy it. On top of this, younger people can tell their parents they want a computer, which tends to be something parents would like to hear (well compared to $200 sneakers and stuff like that).

Great...

So does this mean that since Fitty is supporting Macs that West Coast rappers will start supporting PCs? Just what we need...the East Coast/West Coast rivalries and shootings in the world computer nerd-dom.
