Will a x4 620 coupled with hd 4850 be sufficient for 1600 rez? just thinking about this and planning an upgrade if needed. please comment.

This has gotten a tad ugly. Feel free to start a new thread discussing the prospects for D3 in general, but this thread has run its course.

excuse me!? if you think this is a stupid question just don't answer it. but please don't thread crap or you'll be reported.

The system specs you quoted should not have trouble playing a Blizzard game at such a resolution. Blizzard are well known for creating reasonably decent looking games with a very scalable engine, allowing them to be played across a wide spectrum of PC gamers.

Side note: I did not know where was a Diablo 3 Beta Test.

Side Note 2: If there was a Diablo 3 beta test then information such as this would likely be under NDA. Who would jeopardise a Diablo 3 beta place to post some feedback on how well it plays on a certain system?

D3 is not in beta, its not on any website, blues have said there's no beta, and they are no where near ready. There is no items in game, and bosses don't attack you yet. If your curious about the game go read the official forums or any dedicated site.

Let me expand then.

Why this was a stupid question:

1. There is no beta.
2. It's Blizzard.
3. No system requirements probably till end of beta when there is beta.
4. There are official forums as well as fansites dedicated to this kind of information, you posted in neither.
5. Search engines. Finding answers since 1990.
6. You have a processor that can handle ANY game for the next... 6 years? And your video card is top of the line and only one generation old. So asking about any game is stupid, let alone a game in development from a company never known for pushing systems.

Welcome to the internet.

To the OP: Diablo 3 is still too far off in the distance to even begin to begin considering hardware specs for it. If its the only PC game on your horizon you're best off opening up a savings account to siphon off some savings into so by the time the game is released you'll have more than enough saved up to buy the best for your money's worth when the game is actually released.

eh, Star Craft 2 strayed a bit from the Blizzard norm, at its highest settings it can easily stress even the higher end systems of today.

oh, I didn't realize the beta testers could be under NDA. I guess the previous post did have point on this question not been practical. Thanks for clear it up. But in SC2 beta, there were several sites benchmarking the beta with different cpu/gpu configurations, thought the same would be true for D3 beta since the game is slated for end of this year, naturally they already started on beta.

--- To others:

But in any event, I've been thinking about upgrading to GTX 460 since I can't get too much of the eye candy in SC2 either with a 4850. Anyways, thanks for all the replies, very helpful.

You never upgrade for a game until it's out. No one has any idea about the game.

I appreciate the info, although to call the question stupid is wrong in my opinion. Many sites even newegg has a pre-order page up for this game claiming end of this year release. So they gave me the impression it's coming out real soon. I'd like to know its spec. I did another search it seems most are saying this game won't be in until 6/2011 or later. I just hate Blizzard for never specifying an release date, very frustrating for us fans waiting on one of their games.

You'd be a lot more frustrated if they published a release date of June 2011, then pushed it back to Holiday 2011, then Q2 2012. Be thankful they have the balls to tell Activision to piss off until it's ready.

Even if the game does come out in 11 it will likely be the latter half, meaning any potential beta test won't be until late Spring at the earliest. SC2 released in July and beta started in February. Longest beta test Blizzard has held was for WoW, Novemeber release, April beta test start.

I'm guessing D3 won't release until 2012 anyway.

1) retailers also have pre-orders for DNF.
2) there is no D3 beta.
3) IIRC blizzard already stated the game would not be out in 2011.

A a little bit different from their norm, yes... but reduce everything down and it should still be playable on a typical household system.

It is people like the OP that made D2 multiplayer so freaking annoying sometimes.

Blizzard starts betas generally 6 months before release, so once beta is live, you got 6 months to get a competent system.

SPECULATION is the new spice of life....

it's pretty obvious that AT least 4ghz i7 will be required for this game.. Blizzard does not have the coding talent to do any better.. Look at starcraft 2,, even for a big budget title, they couldn't appeal to the broad market sector, and required 4.5+ghz i7 for consistent 60fps.

So Diablo 2, with less aggressive pathing, a little physics, and there you'd have it 4ghz i7...

Jesus Christ.

Just because the OP asked an uninformed question, doesn't mean that everyone has to threadcrap all over him.

The last thing anyone in this forum should want is it's members afraid to post, because they might get shit on for their questions, uninformed or not. It's fucking rude.

The point of this forum is to discuss and advise. Not bully and invalidate.

Gotta agree with this ^^^

It's a pretty dissapointing attitude. Remind me not to ask any questions here.

It's kind of a universal truth that if you ask a stupid question at least 1 person is going to have a field day with it, multiply that number by 100 when you ask it on the internet. It has nothing to do with here or anywhere else, it's just the nature of the beast. I'm sure the OP got enough good info out of this thread to make an informed decision one way or the other.

OP, ignore the thread crappers. My friend is in the D3 beta test, as well as the HL:EP3 beta and he says your system will run it fine.

Sorry. There are tech forums out there, in which its members don't shit on uninformed questions like they do here.
