From Comic Book to the Big Screen - What Would You Like to See Next?

Dedpuhl

Lifer
For the most part, hollywood has done a good job of converting comic book characters to the big screen (Batman, Blade, Spidey, X-Men, etc). What other characters/groups would you like to see on the big screen?

Some of the ones I'd like to see:

Deadpool 🙂
Grendel
JLA
Silver Surfer

Hello Kitty

Edit: j/k obviously. To be honest, however, Aquaman would be pretty cool. I've had enough of New York City trying to be saved by superheroes. Why not do something cool underwater?

I'd say for the most part Hollywood has marginalized comic book characters (Captain America, Punisher). Only recently have good comic book movies been made.

That being said, I think Preacher, Death, and maybe Ghost Rider would be cool.

oh noooesssss!! You mentioned that AWFUL AWFUL Captain America movie in my thread 🙁 By today's standards, they should be able to put out better crap than that. Well, they successfully fvcked up the last 2 batman movies. Who knows? I guess it's all a matter of budget and who directs the films.

Iron man and Silver Surfer would be cool.

But we need more team action, like avengers, fantastic four, etc.. And big teams of bad guys so they can recreate some of the epic crossovers, like Secret Wars (where spidey gets the black suit...leads to venom, plus i love it when molecule man drops a whole mountain range on the heroes and the hulk is propping it up), Secret Wars II, of even the infinity gauntlet. If they set good enough precedence in a bunch of flicks, the marvel epic battle movie may rank up there with LotR, or, maybe not.

As much as I loved the Infinity Guantlet/War/Crusade for it's crossover appeal, I think it would be lost on a genral audience.

Other characters that would make good movies... how about Turok? Or the Sandman a la Sandman Mystery Theatre?

They're making a Ghost Rider too...

Personally I'd like to see another Spawn.

PS. IIRC Cap Am was played by J.D. Salinger's son. Not that it means anything, just makes it that much more of a trainwreck.

Yeah Ghost Rider would be cool, tho' I haven't read any comics in like 6 years.

Is Lady Death still a popular comic?

Ghost World part 2... I actually would like to see more non-superhero comics/graphic novels get adapted properly.... "From Hell" was a bad movie but an example of what i mean... The Watchmen would also rock (and it involves superhero) but I can tell that they'd probably screw it up like the LXG

Wow, didn't know there were this many Marvel fans. My brother and I have about 3400+ Marvel comics from 1988-1996, with some exceptions of course.

I'd love to see a Infinity Gauntlet movie, but as someone mentioned above, it would be meaningless to the general audience.

A Silver Surfer movie would be awesome if it showed his life / adventures.
