From a standing position, can you bend at the waist, and touch your toes without bending your knees?
I'm 6' 2", and have long legs, so I have to bend a bit farther than most. I cannot do it, in fact I consider myself horribly unflexible. I can barely reach past my knees, maybe mid-shin, before I feel a very strong tugging sensation in the back of my thighs.
Just wondering if I'm in the vast minority being this unflexible or not. Again, I'm 6' 2", weigh about 190 lbs (I don't have a big gut getting in my way, though I'm not in the greatest shape), and I'm 28 years old. I haven't been able to touch my toes probably for 10 years though.
I've wanted to be able to for a long time though, but haven't really tried to do anything about it. Anybody know any good stretching exercises I can try? Keep in mind, I cannot bend my waist to a 90 degree angle and sit flat on the floor with my knees fully locked, since that's beyond my current flexibility point.
BTW, I answered "not even close" on the poll.
Edit - Include your height, and your general level of physical fitness if you don't mind. To see if those 2 are factors.
