Frogger 2 input device problem

Hi, I have a sidewinder joystick and a game pad. I can't get frogger 2 to recognize the game pad unless I unplug the joystick. Both devices are usb. I've tried assigning different device numbers. Any ideas?

Ok, I figured out how to change the controllers and it works for the 1st time the game is played. Then when you play it again the joystick is selected automatically instead of the gamepad. In the registry the gamepad is deselected when the game is started the second time. There must be a command line switch or something so that the gamepad stays as the default device. Any ideas?
