Well I figured this belonged in P&N more than anywhere else...
My mom was showing me the pension paperwork from 2001, 2002, and 2003. Each year the pension for the nurses dropped (in Ontario Canada) for the 65 year old bracket. In 2001 it was $1700 and change and in 2003 it ended up at around $1300 and change.
Not many things really disgust me but taking money from people who've put towards it all their life is pretty aweful especially when it is their RETIREMENT money for what they've worked and planned to do when they were done working and breaking their backs.
Making old people eat Alpo dog food, one day at a time
Luckily my father has done well in life so that they can sustain off of his assets and she is retiring at 55 not 65--but those nurses who work to 65 (which is pretty hard work lifting fatasses at their age) deserve it more than anyone.
