Friends Suspended From School

BlackAdam

So, two friends were suspended from school today for comments they had posted on their personal MySpace pages, regarding a teacher at school. They had posted comments such as "i'm gonna bone *teacher's name here*" on their personal pages. This teacher had found out about this and then contacted the school's administration. Both of them were suspended and the pages were printed and used as "evidence". They might file for appeals so they get their abscence back and no suspensions. Anybody have any ideas regarding this BS?

At least they didn't include a story about zombies overrunning the school on their blog too. Don't want to embarrass the school's administrators..

If they were not threatening anyone then they aren't breaking the law. If this didn't happen IN school the students cannot be punished in school.

In other words, if you are in school and you say to your friend "that girl is hot, I want to bone her", you can rightfully be suspended because that kind of talk is not tolerated in school.

However, if you are outside of school, at your house and you tell your friend the same thing, the school can't do anything to you- it's outside of their jurisdiction.

If they just posted that stuff from their house, and made no threats, the school cannot do anything to them. The school probably didn't know what "bone" meant.

i think that counts as sexual harrasment

it IS sexual harassment, especially since the initial event stemmed from school. Case in point, back when i was in high school, two kids exchanged words, and made comments about duking it out later on. Later that week, outside of school in the parking lot of 7-11, the police were called b/c they were fighting. Both sides of parents were called, and when Monday morning rolled around, both were suspended b/c the intial contact was initiated at school.

then might as well make the school a prison.

Too bad it wasn't a cool teacher like we've been reading about in the news lately. She WOULD have boned them and then they'd have a story to tell. She must be a bitch.

Wait..so thinking about stuff is illegal?😕

Whats Myspace??

edit: As long as this website or whatever is NOT assoicated by the school and was not produced while in school then there is no reason why they should have suspended it. It might be because of how it was intorduced to the teacher that might have caused the suspension.

I was suspended in high school for posting on www.nukeafghanistan.com's messageboard. The FBI called my school about it.... yeah.

And here I was expecting a story about zombie infestation. They got suspended for saying they wanted to lay some pipe to a teacher? Well, better suspend every male student and probably faculty as well.

Wait..so thinking about stuff is illegal?😕

Zero tolerance policies require zero thinking.

LOL. Uhm, these are gov't schools we are talking about, and in terms of lack of freedoms for minors entrusted to what is essentially a state-run day-care (with a small taste of education thrown in for "flavor"), there really are none. Thus, it is indeed aking to a prison.

this stuff happens all the time. chances are they won't have their suspensions revoked. they'll have to deal with it. tough luck. they shouldn't have published that on a webpage.

Some idiots your friends are. Who the hell in their right mind would use real names online. Oh right, people from the south.

Of course not, how would they know what they were thinking? They only know what they wrote. 😕

Think of it as a lesson learned... if they had written something so stupid and immature about a coworker when they were out of school, they'd have been fired.
