Brought a computer home to attempt file recovery. The owner doesn't have home Internet service anymore (only mobile phones) and they only use this desktop PC for the simple games that came with Windows Vista.

The guy's wife asked if I could put some more games on it. I just don't play those kinds of games (card games and such), so I don't even know where to start. I definitely don't want to put a lot of bloatware / spyware on it. I don't even want to install them...just burn a disc with the installers on it -- but they probably won't opt-out of optional bloatware.

What are some simple non-bloated games I can give to them on a CD/DVD?

Usually when I am working on a friend's computer, it is to remove all of the malware that came from downloading games.

Yeah. I know they would be the type to do this if it had an Internet connection.

You used to be able to get these CDs at computer shows with 100 windows games on them. Maybe check ebay for some (obviously infected) stuff like that.

gog.com has some cheap stuff, maybe there are some "100 solitaire" or "eleventy Mahjong" games there.

Install Planescape: Torment or Fallout and see what they make of them :)

Borrow the computer for a day, put Lubuntu on it, then download all the games in the repos. Safe, and it'll run faster than Vista.

Hahaha. Your suggestion is the answer to the question nobody asked, "How to get punched in the face by your client?"

Client: Hello sir. I am not so computer savvy. Could you please recover some files on my Windows Vista machine and while you're at it, could you add some games?
OP: *Installs Lubuntu and some games*
Client: *PUNCH*

You should probably step down from this job. Clearly you have no understanding in what they need.

Who gives a shit what O/S is on a casual games machine? Leaders think outside the box, and give solutions no one considered. Losers work inside the box, and give sub-optimal solutions that don't work as well as expected.
