Well it's completely obvious that her mom doesn't give a sh|t about her. Her mom was a complete failure in life and wants her to be too. She turns 18 on the 5th and her mom wants her out that day. My friend offered to pay rent but her mom still wants her out. There is less than 2 months of school to go before she graduates. She has no money, no drivers licence and no where to go. Not only that but her mom just told her she had to be out this weekend which gave he absolutlely no time to figure out what to do.

She's going to get a one way ticket to vegas and hope her uncle takes her in. If not who knows what'll happen. She'll probably be out on the streets. :| Does anyone have any advice? I'm completely clueless on what she can do. Especially in only 6 days. I'd let her stay w/ me but I don't think my parents would go for that.

have you asked your parents? They might surprise you.

She's not 18 yet, she could do something outrageous and blame it on mom. :p

She is clearly a fool if she wants to go to Vegas rather than find temporary housing for 2 months and graduate.
Does she have issues personally, or just her mother?

Seriously tell your parents about her dilemma and they might understand.

doesn't she have a friend who's parents will let her crash on the couch until she graduates? also, she should get a job and her driver's license, pronto. use a friend's house as the address for the DMV until she gets herself situated, then update the address with them afterwards.

What he said. Also - doesn't she have any friends she can stay with temporarily for 2 months?

I'd seriously ask your parents about it. Especially if you guys have an empty couch/bed/bedroom, etc.

i would talk to your parents. my sister's friend was in a similar situation and my parents let him come stay with us.

at the time, i couldn't believe they actually did that. but looking back, it was really cool of them.

Seriously - it's worth a shot. My own parents were ready to let my girlfriend move in when her dad got a new job in Atlanta and she wanted to finish school here. What actually happened though was that her mom stayed up here to finish her contract with the school district, so the two of them shared an apartment for the year.

My daughter was/ is a huge pain in the ass. She turned 18 and I told her straighten up or get out. Now shes towing the line. I was pretty close to kicking her out before she was 18 though.

It felt like crap but I have other kids to think about and if she sets a bad example shes gone.

Can't hurt to ask the parents, my girlfriends parents aren't my biggest fans but still offered to let me stay there for awhile if i needed to. Of course i said no because that would be really scary and went to my uncle's instead.

if the mom is the problem, the kid should be happy to get the f away from her. 18 is plenty old enough to make it on your own.
