He's running an AMD system with the 570 SLI chipset and 4 gb or ram and windows Xp. I'm running an Intel System with theP45 chip set and 4 gb of ram and windows Xp. He has like 15 processes running just like mine, yet mine scores much better. When I install his drive in mine I get the same low scores. Could that drive be bad or just made differently? He's a little ticked off to say the least. His old Seagate 7200.10 drive scores better than the samsung F1 I gave him. And we tried with AAM on or off it still scores low. And ideas??

I think that clinches it right there. If yours works fine in yours and his works crappy in yours, either his drive is messed up or it's the software on the drive. Is it a fresh install of windows? I assumed it was as you just gave it to him for xmas. If so, I would look into an RMA maybe.
