Friends CPU is shot.

One day everything was working and he put it to sleep, it never woke up,,, again... We tried different PSU and old Acer motherboard

Its a Acer mobo so we send it back along with PSU. Also tested RAM.
Two things we havent checked are video card and CPU. Turns on sometimes by itself His cpu is core2quad. All thats left to troubleshoot is video card and CPU which I believe is shot. I think the vc is ok, its his 10 year old CPU that blew up,, when we gave his gets to 100c at times.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
