Friend's Cingular 8125 dropped in toilet..salvagable?

Uhhhh, all it says is to take the battery out, dry it, and then see if it still works. I fail to see why other social input is required. Logic would dicate this process will work so long as the phone is not already fubared.

Yikes, that's an expensive phone. Just tell him to accept it as an expensive lesson. 😀

I suggested the low heat in the oven method for a co-worker that had soaked his phone.

Well he put it into a toaster oven on broil, then walked away for 5 minutes. Umm, don't do the broil method. lol.

LOL.

They are so small now-a-days. Remember when the batteries used to be the size of a cinder block? Those things likely gave off enough radiation to run your house lights.

Now I easily forget to take mine out of my pants (designed with 6 pockets) and wash and dry it. Came out very clean though.

how could one drop such a thick phone which has plenty of grip,i got one also...well let it dry out for 3+days no battery

yeah, take out the battey and put it in a dry airy place for a few days.

I have let other electronics sit on a windowsill in the sun for 1~2 days and they have worked. I own a flash drive that has been through the washing machine at least 3 times.

As long as you/he lets it dry for several days in a warm spot, it SHOULD work again, but it might sound kind of sh!tty...

I jumped in a pool with mine. I dried it out by sitting in on my roof in the sun..which might of messed up the battery even more. The actual phone worked, but the battery was fubared. I just bought a new one off one of eBay for $11 shipped. Every once in a while it randomly turns off...so it might stll be somewhat messed up.
