Just goes to show that if they want your car bad enough, nothing will stop them. The car was stolen at his school's parking lot. It has already been recovered with the whole car stripped.

i think the club is garbage. all one would need to do is take a hacksaw and cut through the steering wheel.

I'd like to know. I thought it was getting harder and harder to steal cars these days thanks to the keys and microchips inside of them. My car will only start for 3 seconds if you try it without the proper key. I think after 2 or 3 tries it completely shuts down and you need the dealership to come out and fix it. Unless of course they towed the damn thing away, which is a possibility.

Im sure a thief would rather steal a car without a club than steal a car that does have the club on thw wheel. But the truth is, all a theief has to do to steal a car with a club on the wheel is to cut the steering wheel and pull the club off.

This stuff only stops the "honest/lazy thief" or those less motivated. If they want it badly enough, they will get it...one way or another. False car alarms are so commonplace nowdays, that no one even bothers to look when they go off...AND, the thieves know all the tricks to dis-arming alarms/disabling devices, so they only give YOU a false sense of security.

I know they make these for motorcycles so they must make em for cars, but really if you want the best chance of keeping your motor, you should get one of the systems that pages you if your alarm goes off. The bike system i've seen also give you the ability to remotely stop the engine with a push of a button.

So if you happen to see someone riding off on your bike *beep* engine dies :D

Hope the guy had insurance at least and hope his car wasnt a nice one.

People still use the club? I never see it on cars in parking lots. Seems like a waste of time and money.

the club is a deterrent - to a degree. if you have someone motivated enough, who has the right tool for the right situation, they'll get through anything.

Frankly the only club like device that I'd use would be the one that attach to the brake pedal. The steering wheel by default on most cars is one of the most pliable parts because the manufacturer doesn't want you to crack your skull open on the wheel if you should hit your head on it. The brake pedal on the other hand is built to be one of the strongest parts on the car. It takes a pretty heavy duty piece of equipment to cut through a brake pedal bar.

I do, except it shorted on me once and drained my battery to hell... and it kept doing it. I don't use the "secret switch" anymore. :(

But what do thieves do to start the car ? Is the wire twisting thing just a movie-thing ? I wouldn't know. My point is... don't they just go for the wires and see the kill switch anyway ?
