gigabyte 8IPE1000-L its an intel 865 pe chipset
on board sound
He has installed a fresh format of windows xp and new intel and ati drivers.
The problem, well actually there are two.
1) vertical bars, I assumed they were hardware artifacts but they come and go and when the guy at the store installed it on a similar system no problems occured.
2) CS 1.6 works sporadically, it used to not wokr at all, now it usually gives him an error but works sometimes.
Ask any questions you have about the computer, I have never actually used it myself and as such only posted what I could think of asking my friend when I posted this.
