Friend who sits next to me just got promoted to be a manager of another district.

I am real happy for the guy. He deserved this promotion, hes a real great guy, hard working too. Got a $10,000 per year raise.

I interviewed for the same job, but didnt get it. But to me it was no big deal, cuz it was over an hour further to drive plus through downtown city traffic, and i cant relocate right now.
I wasnt sure if i ever really wanted it.

He'll be here 2 more weeks before he starts there, But now me starts to have a lonely sinking feeling cuz im the only one gonna be left here now. Double the work, same pay.

I'm not jealous... Im happy for him, hes a good friend... and he deserved it
Like i said, for me and my family the extra 60 miles per day(2 additional hours of travel), and the money id spend in gas wouldnt be worth an extra $10000 per year.

Its just depressing now that im gonna be all by myself, and though eventually probably paired up with some other person, the fun & well oiled dynamics of this office will be gone forever.
