Friend = teh stupid = smoked weed in dorm room = what is he in for?

Hi all,

A pretty good friend of mine is also a neighbor. He was smoking weed in his room tonight (he like never does this. Maybe this would be the fourth time total all year). I guess he thought that since we are in a dungeon area (only 3 rooms down here. Kind of a weird set up. It is sort of like they put some extra rooms in the basement), it wouldn't be smelled. I guess the RA smelt it from the stairwell and came down. He (my friend) snuck out the window and the RA called the cops and went into his room. He lit some incence before he left so I guess it didn't smell too badly. But he stupidly left a case of corona in the middle of the floor (forgot to take it with him). Cops saw this.

How much trouble can he get in? He is 19 and this would be a first offense for him. He doesn't even get speeding tickets.

WEll appearantly he smkes dubbies and loves spanish beer, so I doubt they will be TOO leaniant, if not at all.


Here at my Univ they kick you out if you get caught...

Yah, it happened to bet the 1 of 2 RA's that everybody hates. Most of them would have said "hey, I can smell that, you need to stop or take it outside." One might have even asked for a drag.

WTF kind of college do you go to! Your RA called the cops?! OMG.. that is just way too anal. Here at my college (UCSC) the RAs call the proctors not the cops. We've gotten in trouble for marijuana. All that happened was a campus proctor came to the room and we got written up... wasn't a big deal just had to write a two page paper which took a whole 10 minutes.

I had a "cool" RA once who didn't really care about anything we did. Unfortunately, Student Housing noticed and he was fired in the middle of spring quarter, leaving him without housing and financial aid.

What I'm trying to say is that the RA probably had a lot more to lose for not turning him in. Your friend would probably just have to write an essay or fill out a bunch of worksheets (same thing happened to some guys in my dorm too).
