Friend of mine is going down (booze)

I have a friend who was a really cool person. Lately he's been going to the local pub and getting hammered every night. He's a highly skilled person at work, but he's changed jobs twice in the last month. Now he works harder and gets paid less. It's gotten to the point where I'm not going to go the the bar he hangs out in anymore, because he's there. He always runs out of money and starts chiseling beer off of everyone there. Unless he cleans up his act, I'm not going to let him hang out at my house either. Everyone sees it but him.

Does anyone here have friends that are headed to the bottom like that right now?

Nope.

My friends know if they want my opinion, they just need to ask. If they decide to use it, then it is their choice. If they wanna screw up their life, then it is their dumb ass choice. My opinion isn't going to sway them.

I have the same issue. I have a friend who seem to turn to the bottle as soon as something goes wrong or he has a bad day. It is the same type of thing. Everyone is concerned but him. How do you get someone to realize it?

Why not drink with him? You just might find out what's really bothering him. Help the dude out, don't run away.
