Friend Needs A PIM, Palm, Visor Or Other?

I don't own one or know anything about them, but I mentioned that you folks could hook him up with a good one at a great price.

It's for his wife for Christmas. I guess it would be helpful to know which one is unequivocally the best, then work on any compromises from there. That's how I do it anyway

I'm guessing top end is around $300 and a good usable one for $150. It would be cool to get the top end one with a coupon or two, rebate and free shipping. Yeah, that it would

Ok how does this sound? A PALM IIIXE from Buy.com for $249.00. They have free shipping till Sunday and I found a coupon for $30.00 off $150.00 order for new customers. I found a second coupon for $30.00 off $150.00 for everybody.

Anyway, is there a good reason to get the Palm VII over the Palm III?
