My friend is graduating from college in December and she's looking to move down here near me in Northern Virginia. She's a marketing major, going to school at Montclair State University in NJ. She's not necessarily looking for a marketing position, she's willing to work doing almost anything within reason (cleaning toilets and working for McDonalds are probably not within reason... but working in a Mall type store or as a bank teller would be reasonable).

Her preference is to do something with music, like work for a radio station and stuff like that, but I'd imagine that those kindof jobs aren't super easy to get into, especially right now.

I'm planning on scouring the newspaper for her this weekend, but I thought if any ATOT people had connections in this area maybe they knew of some job openings that pay reasonably well, or just knew of job openings. (Forgot to mention, she needs to be able to pay bills and rent of course too!)

Anyways, I know the last guy's post about finding a job didn't go over so well... but that was in Hot Deals, and this is Off Topic, so maybe we can keep the flames to a minimum? :)

BTW-No Pics, so don't ask :)

Wow, is the job market really that bad or is there just nobody from the Northern Virginia area that frequents the ATOT board? :)

You're welcome. Hope she finds something ;) NoVa is a nice area if you don't mind the endless traffic. I plan on moving back there soon myself.

Yeah I just moved down here in August (Fair Lakes actually), it hasn't be too bad so far, but I usually go into work real early and leave early or stay late so I dont end up hitting too much traffic :)

My company is expanding but we are in Montgomery county, Maryland and involves extensive travel. In our end of things, the job market hasn't even dipped. We just have a high attrition due to the travel. Most people only work for us for 2 years.
