That game was so frustrating a few years ago.

I remember playing Cache and just ended up camping the entire game between boxes with a SAW cause I had a red health bar and almost died bleeding. The training parts of the game were really fun though, its like taking a mini first aid class.

I never did get that 30/30 target achievement for the Sniper rifle =(

I usually suck on most games online but for some reason I was pretty damn decent on COD4 right from the start.

my reg acct is like 80 honor. My beta acct was like 45. I used to be a beta tester for them. Craziest beta ever, had to send in for a background check with the Dept. of Defense and sign a bunch of stuff from Uncle Sam. Yeah..that game trained me to play a totally different way. If you see some guy low crawling everywhere and letting kills go by right in front of him in COD4 while spectating me..AA did it to me. I low crawled everywhere in that game..that game got me to wear headphones and buy a really good sound card, and it transitioned over to other games nicely.

But, COD4 is much more fun for just a quick game here or there and really easy to pickup. Pretty much zero learning curve. So you have to learn a map..big deal. AA you had to learn so much more!

i suck in cod4 but i rock in ut2k4, ut3, q2 and q3a... too bad those games arent popular anymore :(

There's a reason for that. The Quake and UT games encouraged very fast-paced play with lots of jumping and shooting. CoD4 involves more running from cover to cover and getting a good bead on your target.

You have never played CoD4 have you? thirty-two or sixty-four player servers show what the game is really made of.. It becomes UT. But with spam grenades and launchers along with airstrikes.

no they dont... when u go into servers that big. it becomes who can spam the most.. and u see guys spawn camping..on top of just throwing gernades like crazy in random spots, or even camping in itself.

it's more of that... i liked this game at first then i realized how spammy and campy it is. it's like the ultimate goober fps player's wet dream: camp in the corner and then throw nades randomly and win!

then you need to play a different game mode...try search and destroy or sabotage and stick to servers with less then 20 ppl on them and no respawn.

COD4 (FFA) is a spawn-killing extravaganza. If utter chaos is your thing, drop into a crowded FFA.

Was over at my cousin's house last thanksgiving and he was playing my nephew (ages 17 and 16 respectively) who was consistently beating him with ease in COD4 on the cousin's 360. I pick up the controller to play my nephew for what was my first time playing COD4 and proceed to flat out own him simply because I knew all the general basics and tactics due to the type of game play COD4 entails.

He can't be godlike if he sucks in a game that, while it is certainly different, is so fundamentally similar...unless he really is using a cheat to help him.

I have a fond memory of this game as I picked it up at the recommendation of a few online friends who had been playing the game for a long time. I was a complete newbie at the time but my aim didn't suck. We were all on the same team and using Vent and I was the last one alive (because I didn't really know where to go or what to do) and there was one left on the other team and the guys on Vent talked me through a good spot to ambush the guy with my sniper rifle as they were able to observe him and see where he was going and let me know when to fire...was able to pick him off right as he was popping around the corner because they were walking me through it all...so funny, if only our troops could have the same level of omnipresent battlefield intelligence :p
