damn I dont know how he did that but he did it right before my eyes...and I could see and hear was little smoke and crackers go of....he's is scared as hell and is not evening going close to the computer thinking that he ruined it all. I opened up the case and noticed taht there was nothing untoward except the PSU which has bitten the dust. So what are the chances of the survival of his other parts? I'm not able to test them as I dont have an extra PSU. One thing is for sure there is no smoke marks or burnt out marks on any of the hardware.

I don't know what would happen but I would get a new PSU and try the parts.

Possibly just the primary windings on the PSU's transformer. Generally the secondary is fused, but not the primary.
