Friend installed Limewire onto his computer and now it freezes all the time

Alright so my firend installed Limerwire on his PC and then deleted it because he did not like it. I guess it was package with a lot of spyware. His computer now runs really slow, most applications do not open, and occasinally freezes. I went into Safe Mode and ran Ad Aware, Spy Bot Search and Destroy, and Trojan Remover. It did detect stuff and I did quarantine it but the computer is still not running properly. If you guys could help me out that would be great. Thanks in advance.

yea I was thinking format aswell, but if there was a way around it I would like to hear. I will probably just format it though.

Try SpySweeper before you do a format. Also do an msconfig and see what programs are set to startup when Windows loads. Get rid of anything you don't need.

HiJackThis from safemode. Also try LSPfix to remove any malignant TCP/IP stack dlls, etc.
