I have a friend who was walking through a cross-walk when he was hit by a vehicle. Apparently the guy driving was texting and didn't stop at the red light. He did look up in time to see my friend in the cross-walk and was able to slam on the brakes, but he did end up hitting him. Poor guy was walking back from the post office and his package got smashed. Sad too as he was going to have a BBQ; he had just received an order of bulk beef he ordered online.
Anyhow, when is a car more powerful?
1) At full speed?
2) When it is slowing down?
3) When it has completely stopped?
Would it be better to be hit at full speed? I heard somewhere that a car can do the most damage right before it stops moving. I can't figure this out and hope it will be on Myth Busters one day.
