Friend got direct cable connection feed to neighborbood portal.

The neighborhood portal is right behind his house, and the cable guy couldn't find the cable to his house so he just drilled a whole in his garage and patched a direct connection to the portal. So instead of going 640/128 he downloads at around 2.2mb/sec (upload not sure).

That's nice, but he still can't top my T3 over 100base LAN. Or the 17 or so wifi points all within 20 minutes of walking:)

As in he downloads at 2.2mb/sec or thats his connection rate? Tell him to go download some huge file like at fileplanet.com and see what he gets

$10/month for me, and that includes extended basic cable:) I included the wifi points as icing on the cake. Now if you include tuition into the cost, then yeah, tables seem to turn a bit;):beer:
