Hi.
A friend of mine bought a ePox KT880 motherboard to replace his Asus KM400a as well as buying a MSI 6600GT to replace his All In Wonder 9600XT. Its been two days and he isn't very happy. His computer in isn't as smooth as it once was when he opens up word or a cadd program and when he tries to play any game that came from with the card he gets a message telling him that there is either a general protection (spinter cell) or that his card is not compatible with the game (prince of persia). He then tries to run 3dmark 2005 and its like a luck of the draw on when in the benchmark it will crash next (after it looks like its going to start up a new test, nothing happends). Only once did it actually finish and he got a score of 2829. The only game he seems to be able to get working is EverQuest II.
His specs are:
Athlon XP-M 2500+ @ 2261Mhz
1GB of PC2700
epox kt800 mobo
Msi 6600GT agp
Maxtor 120 SATA
400w power supply
Does his problem seem to be the motherboard, video card or both?
