Friend cant get on NHL 12 xbox 360

Ok this is my last attempt to help my friend.

He got NHL 12 for xbox back on christmas from his wife. There are 5 of us who are hockey nuts and we all play together.

When he starts up his NHL and goes to xbox live the game pulls the terms and privacy. But when he hits accept it says servers not available at this time try again later. Been like this for almost a month.

He calls me because i fixed his computer so I figure should be something simple, an oversight. He has had 8 cases with EA already and that scared me but anyways.....

I brought my xbox over. Connected fine using his router and wireless adapter. Used my hard drive with his xbox. Worked fine. Why i didnt use his hard drive on my xbox, i dunno but it seems redundant.

I backed up his game data, formatted his drive, cleared cache, and started up game. Same error. Tried my disk, same.

I cant think of anything else. He created his profile at eagames.com. His gamertag is there. I dont understand.

If anyone has any thoughts please post them. I'm at a loss
 
I had the same issue with the football games this year. I called EA a few times and finally got someone that had to verify my account on their end. I am not sure what he did, but after we talked on the phone I was able to connect without any issues. Maybe he should try to call and see if he gets lucky.
 
Did he try bypassing his router? Don't even put the XBox in a DMZ, just plug the modem straight into it. I know my FIFA is kinda flakey that way, if the router is blocking any of the necessary ports at all, I forget the term but the firewall picture in the game is orange instead of green. On my old router, I had to give it a static IP and put it in a DMZ, but my new router just lets XBox stuff through magically. So there are differences with routers.
I'd rule any sort of firewall stuff out first.
 
nah its definitely not his router or firewall. i checked and rechecked. plus he plugged directly into his modem during one of the support calls. it is definitely on their end.

You're welcome. This will probably get me in trouble here, but oh well. Make sure you get an american. I called twice and didn't get one and they did nothing. Once I got one, he was able to get it fixed.
