My friend bought a copy of ps7 from where his dad works (it cost 125$). The problem is, it says photoshop 7b on the box, where as regular photoshop doesnt have a B after the version number. I am either thinking this is a business version, or a beta version (highly unlikely to be boxed tho). It appears to have all the features of photoshop 7. Can anyone provide any insight into this?

If it starts up like Ps7 without "BETA" or the beta codename, then it's probably it...

The only way to find out would be to send it to me, though. I'll need the case, CD key, box, and reciept.

From my knowledge, there's no 'Business' version of Photoshop 7, but there is a finalized beta which includes most, if not all the features of regular photoshop 7.

On a side note, I'm assuming your friend is in the business of graphic design etc.? If not, I wouldn't have layed down the cash for any version of Photoshop, and instead do some *cough* online shopping instead, but that's just me (poor little boy in high school)

EDIT: When it boots up, anywhere does it say 'Liquid Moon'? Since the finalized beta is entitled Liquid Moon.

It must be something like a finalized beta, as I can see no other type of photoshop it could be. Still, it works fine for him and has all the features, so it doesn't matter in the end.

<< The B stands for buisness license. Exact same program code though. >>

No such thing (as far as I know) and I support it, it could be a "bundle". PM me the first 8 digits of the serial Baronz and I should be able to look it up.
