I had used my system for 3 weeks...then all of a sudden..due to the high temp of my cpu..i decdided to refit the hsf again as many had suggested..but unfortunately..i fried my chip..at least i believed i did..One of the fan wire...went underneath the hsf..thus doesn't have a perfect connection btw the cpu core and hsf..i try to bootup...and less than 2 seconds..i smelt something..and the system doesn't seem to boot up./.i know ..thats it...i took off the hsf..took out the cpu...and realised that the warranty sticer underneath the cpu had a brown patch..but the core still seems alrite to me....
but i heard from some1 that my motherboard may get fried in the process as well..i am realli worried..as i am in the process of saving up money to buy a new processor again...the cheapest athlon xp....
...
Thus..is it true that my motherboard will be fried as well..all my fans..hsf..all still to be running when i switch off my psu..
specs
athlon 1.4
asus a7m266
sigh
