Okay here is my situation:

I began rebuilding my computer from the ground up. I purchased a new PSU, GPU, CPU, Motherboard, and RAM.

The only things I kept were the case, my HDD, and my DVD-RW rom.

Here are the specs:

MB: Abit IP35-E
PSU: Orion 585 W
GPU: ATI Radeon 4850 512 Mb
CPU: Intel E8200 Core 2 Duo
Ram: Kingston 2 Gb 800 Mhz

So I proceeded to install everything (had a little issue with the front panel connections not working), got it to run correctly, looked at the bios and realized I didn't back up my HDD. So I went to ask my friend in the next room (Frat House) if I could use his PC to back up my main files and wipe my HDD. I then came back and turned off the PSU switch and unplugged the front panel connection because I thought I improperly installed the LEDs. I proceeded to plug them back in, turn on the switch, press the power button......nothing. I was completely confused, so I took it to my friend who owns his own computer shop. He looked at everything, tested my PSU, Vid card, CPU....everything. The Motherboard is fried he told me. I asked him how he knew. He said..."Well, everything works properly except for the motherboard itself and also, some of the nodes are a little puffy rather than flat which could of been caused by an electrical shock." I looked, noticed a little puffiness (which I have seen in working motherboards), and decided it had to be that. But recently I took my memory out and tried the beeping test, and it reads everything.....I already ordered a new MB, but I was just wondering what you guys think about the situation. Could it be my front panel connections?

Yes, it could be the front panel connectors. Pin one is always indicated on the plug. Refer to the manual for correct orientation. I recently had a few troubleshooting woes of my own due to that because the labels on the plugs did not match the pin one indicator.

Well, when I took it to the guy he said that all of the pins were properly placed. When I say do you think it could be the front panel connectors.....I mean the actual cord itself.
