Alright, here's the deal -
Over the weekend we had some pretty major storms here and my Abit KA7 and my Slot-A Athlon 1GHz got fried during a surge. I'd been looking for an excuse to get a Tyan Tiger MP (S2460) setup for awhile now, and I guess that this is it. My question is this - since Thunderbirds are so cheap right now compared to Palominos, is there really any benefit (besides being officiall supported by AMD) of getting dual Palomino 1.2GHz processors over dual 1.4GHz Thunderbirds? Pricewatch has the Thunderbird 1.4GHz's at $101 (OEM) and the Palomino 1.2GHz's at $158 (OEM). Thanks, and let me know...
- Eric
PS - Because of the chipset design of the 760MP, I have heard that it's tough to find a heatsink/fan combo that fits on the board. What have you guys found to be the best cooling solution for this board? Thanks agian...
