I fried my CPU the other day, and also burnt out my 8k7a. My question is, when you fry a CPU I know it usually takes the mobo with it, but does it kill RAM, graphics cards, and NICs?
Ouch, sorry about your loss. If you can't do anything about the CPU and mainboard, i may take it. Your other components should be pretty safe, so don't worry about those. The motherboard may also be salvagable, try send me some pics, if you can.
I'm RMAing the mobo. The chip doesn't have any physical damage, just I remember hearing a popping sound coming from it, and when I stick it in my friend's motherboard it the board doesn't post.
