Fried bios after Fasttrak100 hack? plz help!!!!

Hey guys,
Figured I'd fire this one out there. Has anyone seen the message "Flash rom not recognized or on motherboard" when flashing the bios after soldering on bios chip. Did I fry it??? Or is this an anomoly that others have seen and gotten around?? I was using a 30W iron on the mod but thought I was pretty careful about heating the chip leads...... Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance. :disgust:

I haven't personally seen that message before, however it would seem that the chip is either not isnatalled on the MB correctly. I dont think you would have destroyed it using your 30w soldering iron. Check to make sure that no solder has run between the legs of the chip ....causing a short...,or just remove it and try the install again.

i have done 2 fasttrak66 and 2 fasttrak100, they are all working good.
