Ok this is an update to my friends A7V wont boot.Ok im posting this for my buddy who is kinda bummed. I saw pictures of the cpu and its burnt, the white sticker on the bottom side is now black and there is dicoloration on the core. owe
The next ????? is what caused it.
It never made it to post even from the first time he tried to fire it up.
He says he had the freq. multiplier set backwards from what it actuly was spose to be the first time
can that fry it????? and the dip setting that he had it set to doesnt even exsist so could that have fried it??? maybe sent alot of vcore voltage to it????
the rest of the jumpers were set to jumper free
The fan on the heatsink was working for sure and its a golden orb and a A7V mb

sounds like there was either too much voltage, or the gorb wasn't touching to core... but thats my opinion

The dips shouldn't have anything to do with the Vcore. Some Birds have been known to burn up on A7Vs rev 1.01, usually 900 plus. Rev 1.02 seemed to fix this.
