If I only we had a functional Senate instead of embarrassment it is today
Holy shit—with all the SCOTUS stuff happening, I completely missed that Berman testified before House Judiciary today...and stabbed Barr in the back with a knife and twisted it (metaphorically).
He didn't just stab him in the back, he went and forged a damned claymore like Conan and cut him in half. Damning stuff in there.Holy shit—with all the SCOTUS stuff happening, I completely missed that Berman testified before House Judiciary today...and stabbed Barr in the back with a knife and twisted it (metaphorically).
Trump played this whole thing off on Barr last night saying it's "his deal" like he had no idea what was going on, meanwhile Barr mentioned trump several times during the interview. These two better get together and get their lies correct.
Nadler: "What we don't know yet is if the attorney general's conduct is criminal. But that kind of quid pro quo is awfully close to bribery."
Just saw this on O'Donnell. Did not think Nadler was going there. Barr needs his turn in the barrel. What else could it be? They forced him out of a job he had no intention of leaving because he wouldn't accept another position to give Trump control of appointing the person to lead investigations into people closely tied to Trump. You can suspect bribery if he were merely offered the positions without consequence for refusing or if he accepted them. But Barr/Trump's subsequent actions are crystal clear in their intention behind offering him those positions.
Can someone shed some light on whether this means any SDNY investigations will be scuppered?
