Friday Desktop thread comments....

I propose that we have some kind of poll to vote on the best desktop. Any suggestions on how we could set it up?

Electrode has done it. It's pretty pointless if you ask me since about 50 people submit their desktops. Ask him how much fun it was to keep adding people to the poll.

its been tried in poll form. that didnt work to well.
someone should create a site and load everyones to it and then make a poll

Youch......there must be a better way of doing it than the poll here...I will look around. I don't have a great desktop, but I love all the ideas I get.

We could make a hotornot-style screenshot gallery. I'd do it but my 128k upload sucks for big images like that.

Or close off submission at a certain hour, and have a limited period of time for voting.

Not sure if we'd want to do this every week tho... seems like there are many repeats from week-to-week. Maybe have the vote every other week... or like have a "Best Desktop of the Month" contest.

I'm just talking about like.. a dedicated site for it. Using the forums at all for such a thing seems pointless (as mentioned.. all of the typing in peoples' names and stuff), there could be a site where you register as a user, then you can have multiple screenshots, all of them can be rated, etc. No idea how this fits into the whole friday screenshot thread thing though 😛
